What the app uses
You enter account nicknames, balances, income, bills, payments, debt and savings goals. The app needs these records to calculate your plan. Do not enter bank passwords, authentication codes, card numbers, routing numbers or full bank account numbers. There is no bank connection.
Where your information lives
Connected records are created and read directly between your browser and Google Sheets. Your household’s starting records and change history live in your own Google Sheet. The website does not have a central financial database and its sign-in server is not sent your Sheet contents by this application.
The open app holds financial records and a short-lived Google access token in memory. Closing or reloading the page clears that session. A small browser recovery record may contain random operation identifiers and a Google file ID, but not your financial entries, email or Google tokens. It helps you check an interrupted save without sending it twice.
Google permission and shared households
The app requests Google’s limited drive.file permission for files it creates or that you explicitly select for this app. It does not ask to browse your whole Drive. A spouse must sign in to their own account and select the Sheet the owner shared. The owner can invite one specific spouse as an editor and remove that access. The app does not create public or “anyone with the link” access.
The app has delegated access to its Sheets: user-owned storage does not mean the app cannot read them. You must trust the app and its updates. Anyone with editor access to a Google Sheet can view or copy the records; removing access cannot retrieve copies they already made.
Sign-in and ordinary service logs
The hosting server briefly processes the Google authorization exchange and returns a short-lived token to your browser. It does not retain access or refresh tokens. It keeps temporary random handshake markers for replay protection, plus the application’s private credentials outside the public website.
The website’s hosting provider and Google may keep ordinary security and request logs, including IP addresses, timestamps and request URLs. The initial Google return URL can include a short-lived authorization code and selected file identifier. Removing that URL from your browser does not erase provider logs. Provider retention is governed by those services, and is not a promise of zero metadata collection. No advertising, analytics scripts, request-body capture or sale of financial records is built into this app.
Backups, disconnecting and deletion
You can explicitly download a backup from the app. It contains personal financial records, so keep it somewhere private. Disconnecting clears the app’s current session; it does not delete your Sheet or revoke Google permission. You can revoke the app through Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps and services. Delete the Sheet through your own Google Drive if you no longer want it, subject to Google’s trash and retention rules.
